Rebecca Lander, PA
Rebecca is a Dallas native, and after attending Texas A&M, she completed her Physician Assistant training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School (Dallas). Her passion for nutrition and disease prevention led to her MMedSc in Nutrition (University of Sheffield, UK) and PhD in Nutrition (University of Otago, New Zealand). She is also a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach (FMCHC).
Rebecca and her husband, Alastair, have been married for 30 years, have two grown daughters and three grandchildren. Their family lived and worked in Asia (China and Mongolia) for more than 10 years, providing primary health care and pastoral support for expatriate staff and their families, as well as promoting improved health and nutrition outcomes for the local underserved populations.
Walking in nature, trying new recipes, sharing tea with friends, and hanging out with her family, including reading books to her grandchildren via Skype, are some of Rebecca’s greatest delights.
Rebecca finds much joy in encouraging others towards optimal health and wholeness, and she is excited to be part of Southlake Integrative Wellness Center.
Jessica Herrera, C.H.C.
After graduating Bible college, Jessica Herrera earned her B.S./M.S. in Holistic Nutrition and has since enjoyed over a decade of professional experience in the fields of health and wellness.
A Certified Gut and Psychology Syndrome (GAPS) Practitioner, ACE Certified Health Coach and Fitness Nutrition Specialist, and member of the National Association of Nutrition Professionals and the Weston A. Price Foundation, respectively, Jessica is passionate about helping people tailor their food and lifestyle choices so they get their desired results.
While educational endeavors proved meaningful, the “school of hard knocks” ever stands as her most comprehensive and valuable educator. Having endured decades of major neurological and gastrointestinal disease and traveling an unpredictable and transformative journey learning what wholeness means – body, soul, and spirit—Jessica came to understand that a well functioning digestive tract (or gut) is foundational for overall health.
Jessica believes that nourishment from nutrient dense food is a God given asset to health, and she is excited to share her experiences and knowledge with our patients at Southlake Integrative Wellness Center.
